Finding the Breakdown Cover That is Best for You
When you have to send Bank statements in the post to prove you have paid for an item…?
To a company, i.e green flag breakdown cover, do you have to send the full statement?? The transaction for them is second from bottom on the last page, which doesn’t show my address. Can i blank out my balances, moneys in and out and other information that’s not really any of there business. They cant find a reference for my payment on there damn systems and are requesting my bank statement as proof…..any ideas please….

Definitely. Nobody has a right to see any of your finances unless you want to show them. For the purposes of what you are talking about, I am doing something very similar with my council tax at the moment.
I went online, and exported my bank statement as a JPEG file which I could open within the Paint programme. I then crossed lines through all the transactions that didn’t relate to Lambeth Council.
Don’t let them see your other finances, they have no business in doing so. Just give them the bare minimum to allow them to trace your payment and correct their error.
Good luck!

Yes, you can blank out any information you do not wish them to see. You place a some paper over the details you don’t want seen and photocopy the statement. As long as it shows your address & account details, that should be all they need.

ok, because you may have to block out the whole of the top half of the statement, to cover address and account details, i think it would be best to phone the bank as they mat be able to send u a copy of the the statement without ur info on, or a receipt to prove it came out of your account. Never give you bank or personal details to anyone.

Yes it is fine as long as the information they require is easily readable.

It really does my head in when firms as so useless they cannot find a payment, yes just blank everything off except the statement date and the line their transaction is on, send nothing else, thats all they need

I’d blank out everything except my name and address and the one transaction that involves them. I’d blank out everything else by covering it with white paper while coping the statement.

Yes that is fine as it’s not like they would send you a copy of all their bank statement is it? I would blank out all details except your name, address, account number and their transaction.

If you paid this via Direct Debit – contact your bank there is a DD guarentee to cover this. They will contact Green Flag on your behalf and sort out the issue.
They will also have more luck than you and you dont waste any more time. If you other ways then yes blank out the information
