In July my Seat Arosa broke down. My garage said the throttle body needed to be replaced. They said on the phone it was £418 inc VAT. When I turned up to collect the car, it was actually plus VAT, so was nearer £500. I complained but the owner just said, you should have checked…

Try and get it through your insurance as they will probably add it in for free or next to nout. Play them off against another lot saying "oh the quote is almost the same but they are giving me breakdown for nothing" and pi-sh like that, they use it as leverage to get you join.
I would avoid the AA and most others as if you require them as a result of an accident they wont come out to get you, I went with the RAC because they ARE one of only a few that do attend if you are in an accident.
Trust me its no fun trying to sort out a van to pick up your bike when all you want to do is get home to change yer undies!

Yes most of the specialist bike insurers offer a cover and they are mostly pretty good. Check the cost against the possibility of extending the Honda cover and compare the coverage

AA and Green Flag are pretty good for bikes. Green Flag in particular have agents everywhere. And since I used to ride a really knackered gpz550 when I was living in the northwest Highlands, that was very, very useful.
I don’t know what Honda’s own cover is like, but if it’s anything like Kawasaki’s, don’t bother extending it. I get a much better deal with Green Flag.
